SSK NGO was established in 2005 by a collective of teachers, environmentalists, and youth leaders. Starting with tree plantation drives in Mumbai suburbs, SSK has evolved into a multi-program organization covering education, environment, sports, and arts development.
What we do
After-school sports program providing professional coaching in 8 disciplines to children from low-income families, with focus on character building, discipline, and academic support.
Systematic plantation and maintenance of native tree species in public spaces, school compounds, and housing societies across Mumbai Metropolitan Region, with citizen volunteer engagement.
Completed program equipping 25 government schools with computer labs, interactive smartboards, and trained teachers to deliver quality digital education.
From the field
May 2026
Our flagship urban afforestation drive has successfully planted and maintained 50,000 native tree species across 120 sites in Mumbai, Thane, and Navi Mumbai. Survival rate stands at 87%, significantly higher than government programs. We have engaged 15,000 citizen volunteers in this journey.
Jan 2026
From slum communities with no access to proper sports facilities, our after-school sports program produced 3 state-level champions this year in kabaddi, kho-kho, and swimming. 450 children are enrolled in our sports academies, receiving coaching, nutrition support, and academic assistance.
